The IRONMAN BBQ Competition is a Masters Series professional competition sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Association (KCBS) and is officially recognized by Pennsylvania as a state championship competition, like the ones you see on BBQ Pitmasters on TV. In fact, some of those same folks will be here to compete!

How is IRONMAN different? IRONMAN lets you test your skills as a barbecue pit master without the benefits of electrical controls or unlimited meats to select from. No Gurus, stokers, digital stay-in thermometers, rotisseries, gas torches, pellet cookers, or electrical vacuum marinaters. Just you and the meat, charcoal or wood, basic thermometer, matches, and smoker!

All we allow in your cooler:

1 pork butt
1 rack of ribs
1 brisket
7 pieces of chicken (includes one to taste)

The IRONMAN format is voluntary, with lower fees and higher payouts. But if you commit to doing the IRONMAN format, you must follow IRONMAN rules or risk disqualification.

This event is FREE to the public. Come and watch as 42 teams compete for thousands of dollars in cash prizes and trophies. Or if you think you can hang with the pros and your barbecue is the best, put your own team together and compete. Whether as a competitor or spectator, come on out and check out the great barbecue!
