SUMMARY:Raising the Steaks SCA Competition
DESCRIPTION:🔥We’re hosting a Backyard Riiib-Off at our open house on April 11th! 🔥 This ribs-only competition is open to everyone. No pro teams\, just backyard warriors. But your work will be judged by pro KCBS judges! Have you watched rib competitions on TV and said “I can do that”? This is your chance to see how you stack up. This is a fun\, social event that ALSO raises money for charity. Come as you are\, be as fancy or simple as you want to be. The main requirement is to make great ribs. You’ll need to bring your own set-up: grill/smoker\, tents\, tables\, and of course\, ribs. You can set up Friday evening and stay overnight or arrive Saturday morning. We can help you load and unload your smokers and other gear. For the official timeline of events click here.  Rules  We are following KCBS rules—except we're letting you cook on anything! LP gas\, pellet cookers\, charcoal/wood smokers\, even electric smokers. The full copy of the rules is here. Be sure to read them all! Here are the highlights: Entry fee is $50.00 per team.Ribs may be Spare ribs\, Saint Louis style spare ribs or Back ribs.Ribs may be trimmed\, but not seasoned\, when you arrive.This is a NO GARNISH competition.JudgingJudges will use KCBS scoring on the following factors:TasteTendernessAppearanceJudging will be in a double-blind format.All judges are KCBS certified.Rib turn-in is from 1:55-2:05 pm.Prizes1st Place – Trophy plus $500.00 cash2nd Place – Trophy plus $250.00 cash3rd Place – $150.00 cash4th Place – $100.00 cash5th Place – $50.00 cashWe'll take applications right up to 5 days before the Rib-Off Competition!
